BCE needs coaches for our Girls on the Run program on the Cotswold Campus. Practices are Mondays and Wednesdays 3:00 – 4:15pm starting February 6. The program concludes with a 5K in April. Register to coach HERE.
Today was our last day of Hour of Code, and we are so thankful to the staff and the volunteers who joined our STEAM classrooms this past week to help our students learn more about the basics of coding.

Our 2nd graders had an amazing visit with Charlotte-based author, Tameka Fryer Brown. Ms. Brown shared her journey to becoming an author, read her new book, “Not Done Yet: Shirley Chisholm’s Fight for Change,” and taught students about the book publishing process. Our very own IB Coordinator, Ms. Pointer, also joined in the fun helping Ms. Brown perform her book, “Twelve Dinging Doorbells.” Thank you, Ms. Brown for sharing your time, talents, and inspiring our students! We are thrilled to celebrate our BCE Cougars who tracked their summer reading this year! Each campus hosted a celebration where readers enjoyed treats, free books, and prizes. Two top readers won a new bike from our sponsor at BikeSource and other great prizes were awarded to many of our readers. Congratulations to all participants! Reading Rocks!
