Support a student at BCE with 1 hr per week of reading fluency tutoring. HELPS is an evidenced-based and research validated tutoring program proven to support children’s reading fluency which improves reading for understanding. Cotswold Kids in Motion
3rd-5th grade parents: If you have a photo of your child participating in physical activity (e.g., sports, gymnastics, bike riding), please submit it to Mr. Clutts for display on his bulletin board depicting “Cotswold Kids in Motion”. Students who submit a photo will receive a free Cotswold PE t-shirt or water bottle.

PTA Membership envelopes will be sent home with your child this week! PTA believes that we can make every child’s potential a reality…But we need more believers. We need your family. Join us and show that you believe too! Your PTA membership allows you to have a voice in improving the educational environment of the children in North Carolina. No required volunteer time needed. Beyond paying annual membership dues, however, you choose to PTA is up to you. We invite you to join us because we can do better together than apart!

- 6:30 – 7:00pm – Classroom teachers will host two curriculum night sessions to share with families the curriculum we utilize daily for Literacy, Math and IB. Teachers will also discuss important tips on how to support your child to have a successful school year.

After School Activities – Mad Science K-5th
Take a voyage of discovery into the atmosphere and beyond! Explore planets, moons and other space phenomena in our solar system. Discover the difficulties of space travel, the challenges of living in space and try assembling a satellite while training to be an astronaut. Build your own Mad Science rocket and launch several with the group. Students will have lots of projects to make and to take home, plus – Mad Science is the ONLY organization licensed to use these activities for summer camps and school programs. All material developed by Mad Science and NASA.

Any 1st – 5th Graders interested in Chess? Join the Charlotte Chess Center & Scholastic Academy on Mondays to learn or perfect your Chess game. Led by masters, their team of instructors is the most highly qualified in the Southeast. Regularly contributing to the advancement of our chess curriculum, our instructors are well equipped to provide the highest quality of chess education.
