Summer Reading Rocks Program
What have you read this summer? Remember to keep track of your reading log because READING ROCKS! BCE’s Reading Rocks program is geared towards encouraging students to read over the summer so they avoid the “summer slide.” Access the reading log HERE. Logs due to your homeroom teacher Sept 8.
School Improvement Team (SIT) First Meeting Aug 29
The first School Improvement Team (SIT) meeting of the school year is August 28 at 4pm. All schools are required to have an SIT, and members of SIT are directly involved in the development and monitoring of the School Improvement Plan.
During this first meeting, SIT will provide an overview of their role and discuss plans for the upcoming school year. All members of the BCE community are invited to join, and Spanish language interpretation will be available. Look for information in the Cougar Bites newsletter and on the ParentSquare calendar.
Kindergarten Popsicle Playdate Aug 26
Calling all BCE Kindergartners! Join us on Saturday, August 26 from 10-11am on the Billingsville courtyard playground (124 Skyland Avenue) for a popsicle playdate! Siblings are welcome to join the fun! We kindly ask that all children are accompanied by an adult. The PTA will provide the popsicles, you bring the smiles!
We are looking forward to a “sweet” time!

Meet the Teacher Event Aug 24
BCE families are invited to “Meet Your Teacher” on Thursday, August 24! Time slots are based on the first letter of your last name.
