EpicFest Author Visit
Our 2nd graders had an amazing visit with Charlotte-based author, Tameka Fryer Brown. Ms. Brown shared her journey to becoming an author, read her new book, “Not Done Yet: Shirley Chisholm’s Fight for Change,” and taught students about the book publishing process. Our very own IB Coordinator, Ms. Pointer, also joined in the fun helping Ms. Brown perform her book, “Twelve Dinging Doorbells.” Thank you, Ms. Brown for sharing your time, talents, and inspiring our students! For more information about Tameka Fryer Brown and her books, visit her website at https://tamekafryerbrown.com.
Open House Nov 15th 5:30pm
Did you know that your child can attend Billingsville-Cotswold Elementary School (BCE) even if it is not your neighborhood school? BCE is a partial magnet school, which means our student population is comprised of students attending their neighborhood zoned school, as well as students from across Charlotte attending BCE in a magnet capacity. By applying for a magnet seat via the CMS School Choice lottery, your child can attend an award-winning International Baccalaureate (IB) magnet school, focused on preparing students to be the internationally-minded leaders of tomorrow. Join us for our next open house on November 15th at 5:30pm to learn more about our incredible school and community!
