TUTORING:
- Tutors in Literacy : Discover the joy of helping an aspiring reader unlock reading. For 90% of poor readers, early intensive intervention like ALP tutors provide can increase reading ability to an average skill level. ALP prepares tutors during 5 days of training. Tutors work with students twice weekly for a total of 60 sessions. To learn more, register for an information session www.alpcharlotte.org/register
- Tutors in Reading Fluency : Support a student at BCE with 1 hr per week of reading fluency tutoring. HELPS is an evidenced-based and research validated tutoring program proven to support children’s reading fluency which improves reading for understanding. Students who are reading on grade level by the end of 3rd grade have better learning and life outcomes. Learn more and sign up for a HELPS training.
- Tutors in Math (onsite and virtual): Billingsville students eagerly await volunteer tutors! Games & onsite support provided. Volunteering with Heart Math Tutoring is a fun, effective way to make a difference by working one-on-one with students 1 hr/wk week.
