To many families, the PTA can be confusing. Consider this a quick tutorial to help you understand how the PTA works. The PTA consists of any parent, staff member, or community volunteer who registers to be a member of the NCPTA and pays the annual fee during the PTA Membership fall drive.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Billingsville-Cotswold Elementary School PTA enhances the physical, social, emotional, and educational development of the children of our school.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The PTA Board of Directors is made up of the elected officers, including the President, Executive Vice Presidents, Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice Presidents of standing committees. Elections are held in the spring for the following school year.  Ms. Hash and two teacher representatives also serve on the Board of Directors. Board of Director Meetings review and discuss PTA business including but not limited to the PTA budget, policies, fundraising, committee reports, and the PTA calendar.

• The Board of Directors meets the second Friday of the month at 9:30AM.
• All elected Board Members are required to attend, but it is open to anyone.

MEETINGS

General PTA Meetings are hosted in the evenings and often paired with another activity, such as Curriculum Night or student performances. Attendance is encouraged for all Billingsville-Cotswold families.

Principal Chats with Mrs. Hash is your chance to meet with the school administration and other parents to learn more about recent CMS and school updates as well as future plans. Principal Hash has created a culture of open dialogue so feel free to ask questions and/or provide constructive feedback during the Q&A.

We hope this brief tutorial helps you understand where you fit in at Billingsville-Cotswold. We also hope you will become a PTA member and volunteer to share your presence and talents with the school!
